CCA Experience by Susan Pineda (Former teacher at CCA)
My Husband and I had decided to home school our three children in order to reinforce our Christian Values. However, teaching three different grades was very stressful – like having three full-time jobs, as well as extremely expensive for our missionary budget. CCA appeared as a huge answer to prayer for our family. We feel our children received the best education available through the A-Beka video program.
Another huge blessing was to be allowed to volunteer as a teacher in exchange for tuition. Supervising K-5, first, second and third grades and teaching P.E. through the years our children attended was a real growing experience giving many opportunities to minister to the children. We are overjoyed to know that the school is re-opening and pray God will supply all the needs and use it to continue to give HIS choice children a godly education so desperately needed in this day and age.
CCA Testimony by Anna Brown (Graduate from CCA)
The ministry of Community Christian Academy had a real impact during my middle and high school years. I praise God for the positive friendships as well as the influence and example of my teachers and school leaders during those critical years. After graduating from CCA in 2000, I attended Pensacola Christian College where I completed a degree in Early Childhood Education. The Lord then led me to pursue full time Christian ministry serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship in the country of Honduras.
During that time, I married my husband Colter Brown and have enjoyed the blessing of following God’s leading and watching Him provide. We continue to serve with our mission board at their International Headquarters in Missouri. My husband oversees the missions program while I raise our son, Jedediah. I have many memories of CCA, and I pray that God will bless your desire to offer an opportunity for Christian education to families of Avon Park and Sebring.
CCA Testimony by Mr. and Mrs. Butendiek (parents of former CCA student)
Both of our children attended the Christian Community Academy and it was an enormous blessing. Knowing that they were in a safe, productive, and Christian environment was incredibly important to us. Equally important, was the knowledge that they were getting the best education possible. The A-Beka Book curriculum is a challenging and highly structured program that provided our children with a strong foundation that has served them well through their educational and professional careers. Our daughter graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from University of South Florida, receiving the King O’Neal award for her 4.0 GPA. She is currently working at the ICU/PCU department at Florida Hospital. Our son graduated from Rollins College majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology and received his medical doctorate at the University of Florida. He completed both an Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and is currently working there as a Rheumatology Consultant.
